Step 1
Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay", from French,
is an invented name for the process of making fine art prints
from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The term is
often used instead of Inkjet in art shops. The word "giclée," from
the French word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle",
or more specifically "gicler," meaning "to
squirt, spurt, or spray. "
Digital art most commonly refers to art created on a computer
in digital form. Digital art can be purely computer-generated,
such as fractals, and algorithmic art or taken from another
source, such as a scanned photograph, or an image drawn using
vector graphics software using a mouse or graphics tablet.
The availability and popularity of photograph manipulation
software has spawned a vast and creative library of highly
modified images, many bearing little or no hint of the original
image. Using electronic versions of brushes filters and enlargers,
these "Neographers" produce images unattainable
through conventional photographic tools. In addition, digital
artists may manipulate scanned drawings, paintings, collages
or lithographs, as well as using any of the above-mentioned
techniques in combination. Artists also use many other sources
of information and programs to create their work.
Artists - Traditional or Digital You now have a format to
display and sell your work to Galleries and over the net.
Traditional artists can
supply Tek-Line Products with a Giclée which we will
then mount on the VisionTek Pro format of your choice. If
your Giclée is fine-tuned for art galleries, you can
request not to have us use the over-laminate. If you want
to promote your work we will take your digital file and we
will color-correct and balance the image prior to mounting.
We can also coat the print with our fine art Deena Gel Coat. This is becoming
very popular with art Galleries and they see their sales increase with this process.
We can even send you the print for review before mounting. Because this is a
custom wood-forming process, once it is finished, we have a no-return policy.
We will guarantee all workmanship and will drop-ship to the art galleries of
your choice.
Digital Artists Send us your file per our FAQ page
specifications and we will produce your work with any of the finished mounts
at practically any size. We image your files with photographic paper to get clean
color results. With the Center Mounts, you can create your own backdrop using
various Photoshop brushes and colors to offset your image. We also can image
on Metallic Photo Paper for a very High-Tech look.
With Metallic paper, we do not use the Laminate, but can use the Deena Gel Coat
to protect the image if you like.
